Brother Prodip Placid Gomes, c.s.c.. Brother is from South Panjora, Nagari, Kaligonj, Gazipur. He studied in Nagari Mission Primary School from 1972 -77 for his Pre-Primary and Primary school education. Then he was admitted in St. Nicholas High School, Nagari in 1978. Brother Prodip Placid Gomes, c.s.c. wrote his Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSC) from this school in 1983. In the same year he was admitted in Notre Dame College, Dhaka and completed his Higher Secondary School studies from Notre Dame College in 1985. He was in Holy Cross Novitiate, Barisal one year from August 1985 to August 1986 for his religious formation. Then he pronounced his first profession of religious life on September 14, 1986. Brother continued his study for his study in Notre College, Dhaka in 1987 and 88 for his Bachelor degree. Then from 1989 to 1992 he studied Theology and Philosophy run by Bangladesh Conference of Religious and then Holy Spirit National Major Seminary, Banani and achieved Diploma. Brother Gomes completed his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) under Dhaka University in 1993. He completed his Masters Degree in English Literature from the University of Dhaka in 1997. Brother was at the Institute of St. Anselm, Cliftonville, Margate, Kent, UK. In 2002 and 2003 and achieved two diplomas, one in Spiritual Counseling and the other in Group Dynamics.

Brother Prodip Placid Gomes, c.s.c. joined in Holy Cross Brothers’ formation program in 1980 at Holy Cross Juniorate, Nagari, Gazipur. He professed the first profession of religious life in 1986 and pronounced perpetual vows in 1990. He celebrated his silver jubilee of his consecrated religious life in 2011. After his first profession until 1999 he had been serving in different formation programs and for vocation promotion for the congregation of Holy Cross. He was the Headmaster of St. Nicholas High School, Nagari in 1999 and 2000. Then he was transferred to St. Placid’s High School, Chittagong. He was the Assistant Headmaster there for about one year then he went to England for his studies. He was the Headmaster of St. Placid’s High School from 2004 to 2012.

He likes to be with the students. He likes basketball and plays in the afternoon. His vision is ‘total formation of the students’. Frequently he advices his students, “Not merely GPA 5 in all subjects in the examinations but you must be excellent people. You need to contest always to be good people.” His Model is St. Paul. His favorite statement is, “…do not get tired of doing what is good”. His vision is that his students will be shinning in various parts of the word like the starts in the sky.
